ICOM IC 756 PRO 3 Initial Audio Settings

 

I have created these instructions to assist when an operator is unsure of how to initially adjust the IC 756PRO3 audio. These instructions will detail setting the SSB Bass and Treble audio settings as well as setting the Transmit Band Width in Wide, Mid and Narrow. I have also included instructions on setting the Compression Level. These instructions are how I currently have my transceiver set.

Entering the SET MODE Menu:

a) Press and hold the Exit/Set Button until the menu below is displayed

b)Press the Level Key (F-1) - You are now in the Transmit Audio LEVEL SET menu

 

 

 

Setting Bass and Treble Response

Using the Up and Down Triangle Icons, Select SSB TX Tone (Bass) - Rotate Main Tuning Dial +3

Using the Up and Down Triangle Icons, Select SSB TX Tone (Treble) - Rotate Main Tuning Dial +2

 

 

Setting SSB Transmit BandWidth - Wide

Using the Up and Down Triangle Icons, Select SSB TBW (WIDE) L - Rotate Main Tuning Dial to 100

Using the Up and Down Triangle Icons, Select SSB TBW (WIDE) H - Rotate Main Tuning Dial to 2900

You may adjust the other BandWidth settings(Mid and Narrow) to your own settings

Press the EXIT/SET button to exit this menu

 

 

 

Setting Transmit Audio Compression

Ensure that your Microphine Gain is at an adequate level. (Use the monitor button to assist you)

Return to Main Menu and Press Meter Button to display the Multi-Function Meter. While speaking normally into microphone, adjust the COMP (Compression) pot to achieve between 5 and 10db of compression.
